Emerge: Habits That Last
Last updated: 29 July 2026
Emerge is built to be private by default. This policy explains what happens to your information.
Who we are. Emerge is operated by Amar Mohay, trading as Emerge, based in the United Kingdom. We're the data controller for anything described here. Contact: support@emergedaily.app
Your data stays on your device. Everything you enter - your onboarding answers, goals, identity statement, habits, actions, journal entries, and progress - is stored locally on your device. There are no accounts, logins, or central database, and we can't see your entries.
AI features. Emerge includes AI features, such as your future-self conversations, your identity statement, and action suggestions for your goals. When you use them, the relevant text is sent securely through our server to Anthropic, our AI provider, which processes it to generate a response. That text is used only to create your response and is not used to train AI models. We don't store these conversations on our servers. Anthropic processes data in the United States; where data leaves the UK, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
What we don't do. No advertising. No analytics or tracking. No selling of data to third parties. We don't build a profile on you.
Fonts. Our app and website load typefaces from Google Fonts. When they load, Google may receive your device's IP address as part of the standard request, used only to deliver the fonts.
The legal bit (UK GDPR). We process your content to make the app work and to answer the AI requests you make (performance of our contract with you), and to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests). Where we ever ask for consent - like optional notifications - you can withdraw it in your device settings.
Deleting your data. Because your data lives on your device, you control it. Resetting the app from Settings, or deleting the app, removes your data.
Your rights. UK law gives you rights over your personal data - access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability. Since your data lives on your device, deletion is in your hands already; for anything else, email us and we'll respond within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it with you first.
Children. Emerge isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes. We may update this policy. Material changes will appear here with a new date.
